Quinsens
The name Quinsens has been derived from quintessence, in the sense of ‘essence’. Quinsens is an environmental consultancy. We study the essence of problems, providing independent expert advice covering environmental quality issues.
Our main service consist of expert judgement in environmental quality assessments, environmental quality monitoring and research programmes on environmental quality. Quinsens delivers expert advice on environmental quality related to emissions from, for instance, industry and traffic, and uses a selection of the best available techniques and measures.
In his speech, addressing the Informal Competitiveness Council in Sopot, Poland (22 July 2011), the European commissioner for the Environment, Janez Potočnik, said: ‘There will be no growth if it is not green growth. That is why environmentalists and industry must move away from their old polemics and work in partnership. Environment policy cannot just be about punishing polluters, we must build it into the very way we produce and consume. If we are able to do this we will start to see environment policy not as a constraint on competitiveness, but rather as essential to ensuring our future competitiveness…’.
Quinsens is familiar with legislation in the European Union regarding health-based standards and objectives for a number of pollutants.
Frits van Arkel has founded Quinsens.
